So who else loves bbq? I actually really love bbq sauce – it’s one of the few sauces I can actually eat and love. Something about the sweet, spicy, and smokey flavors are just so perfect together. I crafted this recipe up after craving some homestyle bbq. It’s super simple and doesn’t take too much time to make compared to regular bbq with meat. This is a perfect Super Bowl Sunday recipe or summertime favorite!

BBQ pulled spaghetti squash sliders ingredients:

  • 1 large spaghetti squash, cut in half by length – guts removed
  • 2 tsp grapeseed oil
  • 1 bottle BBQ sauce (I used Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey/Hickory flavor)
  • 2 tsp salt & pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • bread rolls for sliders (I used a Take N’ Bake style from the local market, use whatever you prefer)

BBQ pulled spaghetti squash sliders directions: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Wrap a baking sheet in foil. Place the gutted and sliced spaghetti squash with the skin side down. Drizzle 1 tsp of grapeseed oil over each of the squash halves. Season with salt, pepper, garlic & onion powders, now you’re ready to toss it in the oven to cook for about 45 min to an hour. After the spaghetti squash has reached its cooking time, remove from the oven and let cool for about 15 minutes. Once cooled, using a fork, “spaghetti-fy” the squash and place in a large bowl. Discard the skin/shell. Begin mixing in your favorite bbq sauce into the spaghetti squash, set aside. With the oven hot, place your rolls or bread into the oven to warm them up – typically about 5 minutes. Remove and slice in half. Scoop the spaghetti squash mixture onto the rolls and bread. Top with a little more bbq sauce and serve. These little sliders will definitely be a crowd pleaser at your next party. Enjoy!
